Question for those who (over)exercise and restrict

So basically, I am caught between how much I want to restrict and how much I want to exercise. I have the tendency to compulsively exercise, and it's really hard for me to not go to the gym for at least an hour per day. But it's getting so tough to restrict as I want to with how active I am.

Today I managed to not do a long cardio session and it was so, so much easier to restrict.

So how do you balance wanting to exercise and wanting to restrict? Any tips or insight would be appreciated.

I upped my intake (I was eating very little) since I am very active, and am finding it much more sustainable. I was only walking mostly previously because that's all I could handle, but now I am going for 2 runs a day or some other sort of vigorous activity. I figure since I'm doing higher intensity exercise now it works out to be the same or better even.

I do some pretty intense training and stuff, my hard limit was usually 500 calories for the day, but now I'm aiming for 900, I won't stress too much if I go up to 1,200 calories on a particularly intense day, but no further than that. I also balance what I eat pretty well, not just the number of calories.

Fair warning though, the sugar cravings are intense, at least for me, when I eat less than 900.

Okay. So it totally blows, but something's gotta give.

Overexercise and low restriction is how I lost my period, which led to (what I suspect is) osteoporosis and stress fractures from that exercise. It's just flat out not sustainable.

You're either going to have to eat more or exercise less, or your body will give out on you. Sorry friend. We're not machines, unfortunately, we do need fuel. )-:

i've been through both and i looked better eating more with a lot of exercise. when i only restrict i still look all fat and flabby everywhere, even when the numbers were exactly the same

i also just love burning a ton of cals idk why it makes me fell so good

Eating more is key. I burn about 500 doing cardio, as well about 40 minutes weights and other walking throughout the day. I'll usually eat about 1000 but sometimes up to 1400

You have more energy at 1500-2000 calories rather than going and restricting lower. What counts more is your deficit. So if you want to exercise and keep weight loss off in the long run (less b/p or bin) then have deficit same as if you would not exercise.

What works for me is just self-loathing paired with more energy days and less energy days ya know? Calorie amount really affects how my days go now.
