Are you paying attention to what you are eating still or did you stop?

 

I feel you... I got an iud a year ago, weight shoot up by 4lbs overnight, couldn't lose weight since then despite doing everything right. Got it removed yesterday, and like magic lost 1lb today without changing anything in my diet. If this continues, lose the birth control. It could fuck you up.

Confused, why does bc make people gain weight? Is it water weight or slowed metabolism, or increased appetite?

Im actually eating less now and purging regularly, before i was maintaining eating like 2000 cals of junk. Bc just fucked me up and now im gaining on 900 cals

Yeah dude i was 105lbs last week and now im 110.5, i feel like a whale. Im just going to stop it and pray to god the weight goes back down

i'm about to start taking hormones to get my period back. i'm extremely scared and i don't want to take them, but i can't make my mom and doctors shut the hell up

its just water retention, the bloat and the weight will come off after 3 months maybe less, and the weight isn't even fat. the only real weight change it can cause is if it increase your appetite and you eat more but eh duh.

 

If you can stand it, I'd wait it out and see. It could be a coincidence, or your body might just take a week or 2 adjust. What kind is it? Some kinds are really likely to cause weight gain, and other types very rarely cause it!

I gained 50lbs in 6 months on birth control and I was eating healthier foods and less calories than I did before I went on it.
But I was also put on an anti-psychotic which also had an effect of weight gain so I felt like I was gaining x1000 as fast with 5lbs for every mouthful I ate

 

Ah this freaks me out, I'm going to get on birth control after a pelvic exam in August, but if it makes me gain I just don't know if I can stick to it. Guess I'll still give it a shot and hope for the best though, until I see how it affects me anyways.

I don't think I did but... my weight has been all over the place the past 10 yrs so who really knows. All I knows is I'm not having sex now so it's not really a concern of mine

I literally had a doctor's appointment next week to get back on birth control because my boyfriend asked me to and now after reading this, yeah, I'm canceling it

I literally am going in Tuesday to get nexplanon... hold me!. I just can't get pregnant again, I'll forget the pill, the Mirena was uncomfortable and my husband procrastinates getting snipped. I was gonna get my tubes tied, but I had a friend so that and she lost her sex drive AND gained 15lbs. Geeeez I just can't win...

I had to go on BC to regulate my periods and I was refusing to do it because I didn't want to gain weight. My doctor prescribed the one that was least likely to cause weight gain and I have had zero problems. It's a generic called Enpresse (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol). I'm sure you're just dealing with water weight right now. Maybe try a diuretic?

 

I gained a lot of weight on the birth control pill, maybe about 10 lbs, and then even more weight when I started taking mental health meds in addition to it. It made my breasts jump like 2 sizes from a B cup to a D cup.

I switched to the copper IUD on March 1st (because it's non-hormonal and can't affect your weight).

 

i'm going to get the pill very soon and i'm super worried about weight gain and being more depressed. i guess i'll just say that i'm a bit worried about gaining lots of weight

Omg i wish you good luck😭❤But if I'm being honest nexplanon was great AT FIRST becquse i did lose my period for 8 months... of course I then got it for 8 months straight but I have a friend who had no bad side effects when she got nexplanon so it really depends on your body!! Mine just did not agree lol
